It was the early part of June 1981 that Marge & Ernie Staebler decided that they would move from their home in Rochester, WI to Whitewater to start what would become Frosty's Genuine Frozen Custard.  Unlike today when there are hundreds of custard stands in the area, during those times, nobody even knew what Frozen Custard was.

Through a lot of hard work & determination, Marge and Ernie and Family built themselves a very nice little niche on Whitewater's Beautiful East Side.

At the time the Backyard Habitat Award was received, Frosty's was one of only seven for-profit businesses in the entire world to receive the award from the National Wildlife Federation.

You too can create more habitat for birds & butterflies.  Just visit

You can also see to the left of the above picture where the old co-op used to be.  The Eastsider gas station now exists at that location.

Frosty's in the early YearsExpansion Starts In 1986

In 1986, Marge & Ernie completely remodeled the main building of Frosty's.

The front & side canopy's were removed and inside seating was added to the front of the building.

In the year 2000, Frosty's again expanded by going back 30 feet and adding a drive-thru to the east side of the building.

In July of 2003, Marge & Ernie Staebler sold Frosty's to their son Keith & his wife Tammy.

In a few short years another generation of the Staebler family will be able to help carry on the family tradition.

For over 28 years our goal here at Frosty's has always been the same, "to provide Quality food, Beverages, & Frozen Custard Treats complimented with exceptional service in a like home comfortable environment."  We like to think that we are good food served fast. We are definitely not fast food.

Whether you have been coming to Frosty's for the past 28+ years, or if you are just now planning your first visit we will look forward to serving you again and again.  We know that if we serve you quality food & treats along with exceptional service that you will want to return with your family & friends for hopefully the next 28 years and beyond.

As always, thank you for allowing us to serve you all of these years and we hope that your time spent with us is an awesome experience!

                                                                                                      Thanks Again

Award Winning Landscaping

Frosty's co-founder Ernie Staebler has an amazing green thumb.  What started out as just a few simple flower beds has led to the entire property being covered with flowers and Ernie's unique home made birdhouses.
